Nigeria's sensation Georgia is new CaddiePlayer to watch!

When I found out that a 16 years old from Nigeria was about to come to Evian for the Championship qualify Jabra Let Access; I tweeted > "Does she need a Caddie?" One week later here Evian I was meeting Smily/Happy Georgia Oboh and supportive Mother and Father. 36 holes of CaddiePlayer Caddie later, I was convinced, Goergia has the right "MindSet" to make it to the higest level. Now its just a matter of getting her "SwingScore" low...  probably sometimes in 2018.

Until then #IamCaddiePlayerStéphane welcome #CaddiePlayerGeorgia

European Tour's Caddies to become almost CaddiePlayer

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I have just ended my first "RolexSeries" week with a Monday stretch to experience US Open qualify at the historical venue Walton Health Golf Club where spectators could enjoy their "Bank" Holiday walking free on the course next to their stars witnessing one of them as so called "BEEEEF" (Johnston) Hole in One at the second hole of the "New" course (1905). What a great experience it was!

CaddiePlayer Jacquelin and Havret played well, respectively 7 and 6 under but when you have only 15 qualify spots, playing well is unfortunately not well enough as 9 under was the playoff  score.

Wentworth BMW PGA Championship and first "RolexSeries" event was also the launch of their new look "Website" EuropeanTour.com as well their innovative "European Tour Performance Statistics" Card.

In 2012, after conducting my putting research, I was trying to convince the European Tour Authority to use CaddiePlayer alike stats card by at least collecting the distance of the first putt. This initiative was to be better in line with modern research findings (Broadie 2011) and with it more putting data's. Finally, after 7 years of waiting the European Tour deliver it...  As per now those data are still on Caddies "Voluntary" base but soon to become Mandatory in order to deliver a better understand of Players Performance and with it to give extra entertainment information to the spectators.

So with this European Tour Statistics initiative I welcome all European Tour CADDIES to a new kind of data's Area....

Until Next Time #IamCaddiePlayer Stephane

Back to Europe with my Billionaire busting his quest

Chailly, Burgundy, France (Home of CaddiePlayer)

17 years ago, I unofficially embarked with Clive Agran UK Golf Monthly columnist on a program to get his handicap down from 18 to single figures in 12 months. The idea behind it was, if you give the average golfer every conceivable assistance, can he dramatically reduce his handicap?

"With the help and support of Britain Golf Monthly, Clive had lessons from a top coach, had customized equipment, a sports psychologist was appointed, he practiced three times a week and played at least twice a week. His efforts were written up each month in the magazine and the series “Single Figures or Bust” was extremely popular with the readers. Clive just managed to get his handicap down to nine a week before the end of his year, and I was proud to have played a significant part in his achievement as back then Online coaching, as CaddiePlayer, was just starting ."

Could “Single Figures or Bust” be achieved with a beginner super senior with unlimited funding?

So, on we started December 13, 2015 from UAE to Switzerland to UAE and Thailand, from the “D to the A” Swing* with in between countless hours of Golf Channel watching "Lydia Ko" and thinking after all this game is not so hard.

Having the opportunity to journey coaching over 3 calendar year with unlimited budget was quite a life time experience. During our 60 hours per month program we did it all private/best and the pinnacle of it was to bring on board world class 3.500 USD an hour teacher. Having private one of the most famous teacher in the World was quite an experience…. My personal highlight beeing his “Chauffeur” back to his 5 stars Hotel. As a conclusion he quoted to us: “Golf is a big pie, the Swing is a big piece of the Pie but it’s not the all pie > golf is a work in progress inch by inch, don’t push to hard”.

At the end what I found, is that pushing too hard it was, and the billion neurons billionaire got busted….I just arrive in France, Burgundy, CaddiePlayer Center Chailly where you welcome to eat our gourmet chef sweet pie and play easy golf.

Until next time #IamCaddiePlayer Founder Stéphane in France, Burgundy, Chailly

MENA Tour’s Ras Al Khaimah Classic Earned first 248 USD to Swiss Albertini - Read his Blog

My first experience in the UAE Davide Albertini, Swiss PGA Tour Player

"Recommended by CaddiePlayer Founder, Stéphane Barras, on April 7th, I flew to the UAE for the first time and I really had no idea about what I would find. The only thing that I knew was the weather was going to be hot and that I would see many skyscrapers. The night I arrived, I must admit it, I felt kind of lost. I was driving my rental car and it was night. I could see all the lights of the huge buildings around me and it was quite impressive. I was there, in a small Nissan Tida, driving on a six lanes highway (six!!!) and at the same time I was trying to pay attention to my gps. I was about 20 minutes from the center in an area called Dubai Sports City, which is still under construction . The name says it all. You have got everything you need for sports. Golf course (The Els Dubai), football fields, cricket fields, gyms, etc. Close by you can also find Dubai Motor City with its race track.

I mostly stayed home at night during those days, but one night Stéphane Barras took me to Dubai Marina and it was very nice. The heat of the day was gone and we could eat dinner outside. I spent some time looking around the area- the tall buildings were majestic and there were a few still under construction, with busy workers 24/7. The first few days out in the sun were a big challenge. The temperature was near 40°C and training was a difficult. After a while, it was easy to lose focus and you had to keep hydrating all the time.

Stéphane Barras arranged to spent my time training at the Butch Harmon Golf School at the Els Club. It is a great training facility, where I had the chance to really focus on my game and work on some improvements with instructors Joe Marchall and Allistair Parlane. They helped me a lot with my biomechanics and swing, and all the staff was very kind and helpful. I was impressed in seeing so many young kids training almost every day. I spent a lot of hours between the driving range, the short game area and the gym. Time flied by, because I was having a lot of fun going around the different training areas. I only went to the course a few times, in order to see if I could bring the “driving range” swing on the course. A  lot of positives came out of that. Finally, the Mena Tour tournament in Ras Al Khaimah was getting closer, and I wanted to go and play.

On April 20th, I drove north to Ras Al Khaimah. The temperature was a couple of degrees lower than in Dubai and the place was completely different. The big groups of tall buildings were no longer to be seen. It was more like a traditional city. I stayed in a hotel just outside of the town center and it was the perfect location for me. It was just five minutes away from the golf club and in a quiet place. The tournament went well as I made the cut and got my first Mena Tour purse. I felt confident on and off of the course thanks to the good work we put in during the two previous weeks. I am really grateful for the help and the tips that they all gave me. Now it is just a question of working hard. I feel that these three weeks were very good. I am really pleased with everything that I did and how I did it. I met a lot of great guys, and I am sure that I will be meeting up with them again soon. Once you get used to the heat, I personally think that it is one of the best places to go, train and play. It was a nice first experience and I am sure that I will go back."
