Ryan and Matti, new era from the Desert Swing... from Dubai to St-Moritz a new era of Data.

From Dubai to St-Moritz

I just ended my 2 months Dubai lifestyle with a flight to St-Moritz, Switzerland where I have been appointed by a CaddiePlayer.

I could write a book about all the peoples, the stories I was involve with in Dubai. I never saw Dubai so busy! Expo2020...? Not sure as many decided to make it their permanent home. From celebreties Tour Pros to Cyber Billionaires, Dubai has become the place to be, to live as we say in French "Le monde attire le monde" and Dubai is the King of marketing.

And then there was Covid... the last thing you want to meet!

"Mid-December it was like Dubai was Covid free then by New year eve it's like every one I knew caught it!"

Despite spending Christmas and New Year festive avoiding crowed, Covid did not care, found me and with it my "home alone" 10 days quarantine journey began. It was a interesting challenge that I had to wait 58 years to experiment. Not stepping out for 10 days with no TV limited internet access and YOU AND ONLY YOU to face with. Welcome to Tom Hanks "Kast Away" in 70 square meters flat.

My Covid good news was the timing, early January its always the best time to reflect.

For me it was about CaddiePlayer & PuttZones, revising lots of data and thanks to the "New Era" of the DPWorld Tour, data have never been so accessible!

Once I was Covid release, I was ready for the Desert Swing: 4 events > Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic, Ras al Khaimah Championship and Ras al Khaimah Classic.

"To make the experience even more live, I went on to follow two players I believe belongs to the "New Era" of Golf: Ryan Fox and Matti Schmid."

I was not disappointed as they both play to another league. Should we name it the "Power League"? Meaning massive drives, most Pars5 in two and wedges into Pars4. Statistically this leads to more times putting from Zone3 = The Birdie Zone.

Ryan Fox went on to win the Rak al Khaimah Classic (See below PuttZones breakdown, Ryan was the Desert Swing Most Zone3 versus Zone4 (25-21) attempts winners), Matti shall win pretty soon. THE MASTERS is not far away.

Cheers from St-Moritz - Switzerland, skiing is like putting (Slope, Speed, Control) until next time #IamCaddiePlayer Stephane PuttZones Founder.

LPGA Jin Young Ko reach historical 63 Greens in a row!

and win CME GROUP Tour Championship 1'500.'000.- USD first prize.

In my best seller Golf Manual "La Difference" I write: "The goal of the Golf Swing is to understand and control how to "throw" the ball at the proper height, direction and length and once your body "controls" these 3 elements you shall be able to reach Green in Regulation (GIR). The more Greens you reach the better a player you are and the lowest your score shall be."

According to Dr Lou Riccio there is a correlation between the number of green you reach and the score you play. This correlation is part of CaddiePlayer data solution calculation as (GIRx2-95)+(Dp-DbGIR) = SwingScore.

In order to reach as many Greens in Regulation you should not only control your "Swings" technics but also: The Clubs selection, Slopes direction,  Shots distances, Weather conditions and at last the Hazardous of the bounces.  All in all reaching 18 greens in regulation is unlikely to happen to often! However a good short game (within 60 yds in) will make up a better score! > (4shots Rule Barras-Baradie 2016)

Lou Stagner from Golf Stat Pro quote: "On the PGA Tour statistics, you are more likely to see an ace than to see a player hit all 18 greens. Chances a player hits all 18 greens are: Once every ~582 rounds. Chances of a hole-in-one are: Once every ~563 rounds."

GIR63JinYoung Ko

(Right Graph) PGA Tour most consecutive GIR through the year. Left Jin Young Ko with 63 consecutive GIR!

Steve Fox It Consulting quote: "To put this in perspective. Looking at the last 30 years of Shotlink data, the best streak on the @PGATOUR was 51 consecutive GIR by Bob Lohr in 1992. What Jin Young Ko did was truly incredible!"

In the 80's while I was an apprenticed at Boca Raton FL "International Golf School", I had the privilege/honored to assit PGA "All of Fame" Bill Strausbaugh. I recall Bill speaking about LPGA Mickey Wright telling me that she had the "best Swing ever." I guess now it must be Jin Young Ko!
