Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

The Championship is done, The Champion is smiling and The Show is over.

I started my 2017 European Tour Coaching season here in Abu Dhabi and what a great place to be! The first thing I did when I arrive was to visit the setting of the HSBC Village. For this the HSBC village is a must to see. The 2017 edition  was not only about golf but also tennis, rugby, soccer and more "Zones" entertainment to make everyone happy.

Back in 2012 HSBC commissioned a report called: "Golf's 2020 Vision" which looked ahead to see what might expect by the turn of the next decade and this state of play revealed the following:

  • Olympic status can change the game
  • Asian golf is on the charge but barriers remain
  • Golf needs new formats
  • Social Media has been transformational
  • More immersive viewing experiences are taking us closer to the action

By walking around one Slogan strike me the most>  "Anyone's Game" I find this slogan really interesting because how many time during my career I have "eared" "Golf is not for me". For sure next time I meet those I will encourage to watch the Saatchi & Saatchi campaign Video where everyone is playing everywhere.... > https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Anyone%27s+Game+

In line with the "Immersive viewing experiences" and thanks to Tour player Raphael Jacquelin and his initiative "BornForGolfTour" I could meet Sylvain who introduce us with the "Viewer" project. For the first time of my coaching career I could see myself together with Raphael in a golf action clip and realize how much effort/repetition we do in order to get ready for Thursday. Then as we say down here in the UAE > Inshallah (Its God's will)...

Until next time Stéphane #IamCaddiePlayer in Abu Dhabi.

Researcher driving Swing Guru Leadbetter into Dubai

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Thanks to CaddiePlayer Raphael Jacquelin and Mr G., I could spend 10 hours head to head with living legend Swing Guru David Leadbetter first visit to Dubai. This unique "Experience" as given me the rare opportunity not only to assist his "Passionate" teaching/coaching but as well to share a lunch and dinner where our conversation led to interesting "Stories".

Among all the pictures/video/voice recorder I took, there is one David's quote that I will remember and should serve all the Teachers around the world!

"The Older you get, the better your Technical should be"

On our way back to David's Hotel I got to be his driver where I get the chance to introduce him with the PuttZones system as well the "4shots Rule". David was listening deeply with his eyes closed....

.... I am pretty sure by now that David understood the meaning > #WeAreCaddiePlayers!

Until next time Stéphane at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship for less Drama and more Birdies...

Merry Christmas to Everyone "Home Alone" in Almaty...

Almaty, Kazakhstan Christmas Day

I have no Childrens, no Brothers, no more Mother, Father neither Sister, Wife or Girl friend. So I guess you can call me "Home Alone".... When you are "Home Alone", the last place you want to be for Christmas is Home (My Home Crans-Montana, Switzerland).  Instead, I decided to fly as far nord east as I could with in the back of my mind to make something "special" for this day where Feast/Reunion/Joy and Gift gather around and under a shiny lighted Christmas Tree.

As for me Christmas equal snow and snow equal ski, I decided to fly to Winter Almaty Kazakhstan to have my minimum one day ski and today I am lucky as the ground is cover by a majestic white carpet powder snow and the sky blue azzure -9 degree the perfect ski day!

Thanks to CaddiePlayer Axel Bettan, caddie of Romain Langasque, I could also connect with the Kazakhstan Golf Federation and should meet there Secretary to speak further about their golf development. Where ever I go, I am always exploring ways to share golf knowledge and experiences.

At last I want to remember my Christmas Childhood where many gifts I received then are still within me. In that regards, I have spotted one local Kazak Children whom I wish to make a "special" gift too....

Merry Christmas to Every CaddiePlayer Childrens ... #IamCaddiePlayer "Home Alone" in Almaty...

1 minute silent respect for Caddie Maximilian Zechmann

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Dubai Ladies Masters,

All my condoleances to Maximilian Zechmann's Family who yesterday passed away in front of my eyes on my prefered hole 13th also my birthdate Lucky Number next week.

It was suppose to be a great beautiful Golf day in Dubai. A day I was waiting since January 2015, the last time I met Golf Channel "Big Break" and Model Star Blair O Neil at the PGA Show Orlando. At that time Blair dreams was to make it on the LPGA and I was interested to encourage her to use CaddiePlayer services.

Blair O Neil venue in Dubai was a great occasion for me and CaddiePlayer to understand more about her game and benchmark her performance with her team mate Carly Booth and Anne-Lise Caudal. So despite Blair early starting at 08h05, I woke up at 05h00, pick up Green Keeper Mohamed with a Rose Bouquet for Blair and drove the 120km stretch from Abu Dhabi to Dubai not to forget the deep road fog that force me to slow down to 60km/hour. Despite the heavy Fog and start delay for 45 minutes. I got there just on time  to witness Blair first Tournament high cut drive in Dubai.

Blair group was having a good pace and she was keeping her level score 5,3,4 as we approached the second par5 hole13th I got ahead to take a souvenir picture and witness her Drive Power to reach the green in two then, Caddie Maximilian Zechmann walk next to me and wave at me as we knew each other.... in fact I recall seeing him occasionally on Tours when I am coaching around.

...10 Minutes later, 120 yds from the Green, he collapse from heart attack. I could only watch Maximilian in distress and all I could do is gave him a bottle of water for relief.... RIPMAX.

Stephane doing one minute of silent for MAX.

BlairMakeCuts

Despite all the emotionals Blair manage to make the cut and got further opportunity to show her golf Talent and Power. I recall her last beauty power drive on 16 that overdrove her opponents by a good 50 yds! > http://ladieseuropeantour.com/fourth-omega-dubai-ladies-master-title-for-shanshan-feng/
